Senior police officers ordered into 30 day detention

The two senior police officers who were arrested over the weekend have been remanded in custody for 30 days by the Higher Court in Belgrade. Criminal Police Department (UKP) chief Marko Kricak and Crime Suppression Service chief Bosko Sekulovic were arrested on Sunday following a criminal complaint filed by lawyers representing former Belgrade Police Department chief Veselin Milic. The court ordered their detention ruling that they could interfere with the proceedings by influencing witnesses. Both men are suspected of abuse of office, while Kricak also faces a charge of abuse and torture.
