Belgrade mayor: I did not resign, nor do I plan to

Belgrade Mayor Aleksandar Sapic on Wednesday refuted claims that he has resigned, adding that he has no plans to step down. When asked by the weekly magazine Vreme whether it was true that he had submitted his resignation or was planning to do so, Sapic responded, “No, and I do not plan to.” Vreme reported that rumors of his resignation emerged following the election victory of the Student List. The United Serbia coalition, led by the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), of which Sapic is a member, came in second in the vote.
