Valjevo students give police chiefs 24 hours to resign

Students in the city of Valjevo on Monday demanded the immediate and irrevocable resignation of five top officials within the Valjevo Police Department, giving them a 24-hour deadline. “Lustration begins this very moment. Following the chain of command, they have 24 hours to step down. This is not an ultimatum; it is a warning,” Vladimir Jankovic, a former police lieutenant colonel from Valjevo, told the crowd gathered outside the police headquarters. The students also demanded an end to disciplinary proceedings against whistleblower police officer Katarina Petrovic, her immediate reinstatement, and a review of the legal actions taken against her husband.
