US midterm elections: More than 52 million have voted early as campaign spending reaches $11.6 billion

Just 48 hours remain before the official US midterm election day on November 3. The vote is widely seen as a referendum on the first two years of President Donald Trump’s second term. The result is expected to shift the balance of power in Washington and directly affect the implementation of his political agenda through 2028. Voters will determine the makeup of all 435 seats in the House of Representatives, 35 of the Senate’s 100 seats, and 36 governorships across the country.
