Kosovo government pledges over €1 billion for military during current term

The Government of Kosovo has pledged more than €1 billion in military investment during its current term. The government also announced that military capability targets set for 2028 are expected to be met two years ahead of schedule. According to the government statement, arms purchases have exceeded €430 million. Bayraktar and SkyDagger drones provide air support, while the Kosovo Security Force’s ground arsenal comprises more than 40 types of heavy and light weaponry. Referring to its previous term, the government said the military budget had tripled and 3,220 new soldiers had been recruited into the Kosovo Security Force (KSF). These recruits more than doubled the force’s personnel.
